Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 with his family by his side. Beloved husband of the late Ella. Loving and devoted father and father-in-law of Maryana and Radu Soreanu. Cherished grandfather of Carmit (Roy), and Ron (Rayna). Proud great-grandfather of Ethan, Elle, Chloe, Logan, Page, Blake and Andi. He will be sadly missed by his longtime companion Gerty, and family abroad. Memorial donations may be made to Beit Halochem Canada, Aid to Disabled Veterans of Israel 905-695-0611.

Shiva Details: Shiva private. Friends and family are invited to 7420 Bathurst St., Apt.1504, Thornhill, L4J 6X4, Code 161 immediately after the service. On Sunday, July 17th visitors are welcome from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Carol was a dear friend of mine: we liked the same music, we liked the same people, we came from the same shtetl. I have known Carol since my kinder garden age when I was looking "up" to him. I was honored to sing his "My way" song at his 100th birthday party: indeed, he did it his way! Carol, you will be forever remembered. May your memory be a blessing to all those who knew you, respected you and loved you!

Carol was a very dear friend of my parents and I always enjoyed talking with him. I liked the memories Carol shared with me about my parents in Bacau, where for a while we were neighbours. I will miss him! Mariana, I am glad that Carol was with you and your family until his last moments, as I know how much he loved you all.

We are so heartbroken to lose such an incredible man. We were so blessed to have him for so long and it makes it that much harder to say goodbye. His great grandkids adored him and loved seeing him sing his favourite song, “I did it my way”. That song represented everything Bunicu was, he truly did everything his way. He was so devoted to his family, he attended everything from our weddings to our kid’s dance recitals and nursery graduations. Every minute spent with us was precious to him. He was an incredible grandfather,, growing up he was a part of our everyday life from driving Ron to hockey to picking me up from school and it always involved a stop at his favourite, McDonald’s! Bunicu was the kindest, most charming and generous man. He will be greatly missed by all of us. ❤️

Our dear uncle,Carol, it's always hard to say goodbye...but I want also to remember today your life journey of more than 100 years. You lived life to the fullest and always focused on the positive. You will remain our family role model for how to look at the bright side of life at any age! I feel so fortunate we could spend some time together last month and have this special family gathering for the last time.
