Cheryl Patricia Awenus passed away peacefully at Baycrest Hospital on Sunday April 12, 2026 after a long and tough battle with cancer. Born in Toronto on January 9, 1955 – she was a devoted and cherished wife, mother, Bubbie, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. She is survived by her husband Jeff, her daughters Jacqueline (Ian), Stephanie (Liran), and her beloved grandchildren Meir, Maya and Roey. She is also survived by her sister Penny (Stu) and brother-in-law Garey (Barbara) alongside her nieces and nephews, Ari (Tammy), Jordan (Alyssa), Daniel, Jesse, Kyle, and Noah, and many cousins. She was predeceased by her parents Harry & Ruth Appelton. Cheryl was beautiful inside and out, with her stunning blue eyes, bright smile and ability to make a friend out of anyone, she lit up every room she walked into and walked out with new friends anywhere she went. She will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her.
