Clara Fuchs, née Sandler, passed away peacefully with her son Juan (Johnny) and daughter Eva by her side on April 26, 2022, exactly one week after turning 92.

Clara was born as the fourth of six children on April 19, 1930 in Córdoba, Argentina. When her mother passed away at a young age, Clara would find herself in the role that would define her – that of a nurturing and loving motherly figure. She cared for her siblings – Jacobo, Aaron, Rebecca, Cata and Abraham (Peti) – as if they were her own children.

When Clara was a young adult, she met and married Peisech Fuchs in Buenos Aires. They would go on to have three children, to whom she would devote her life. After her children moved to Canada with their families in search of a better life in the 1980s, she left everything in Argentina behind to be with them and her seven grandchildren. Her greatest joy came from preparing delicious feasts for her family and having everyone together.

Clara is survived by her children Juan (Viviana) and Eva (Ruben), daughters-in-law Lea and Diana, grandchildren Pablo (Melissa), Patricio (Katie), Sebastian (Olivera), Brenda, Lisa (Gianpier), Diego (Jenna) and Jonathan (Jaime), and great-grandchildren Morena, Liliana, Kayla, Lukas, Penelope, Daniel, Juliana, Gabriel, Eden, Jeremy and Lachlan. Clara was predeceased by her husband Peisech in 1988 and son Javier in 2021.

The family would like to thank the Apotex Centre – Jewish Home for the Aged at Baycrest, for providing an excellent home and outstanding care during the last six years of her life.

Graveside funeral to take place on April 29th at 1 p.m. at Pardes Chaim Cemetery, 11818 Bathurst St., Richmond Hill, Ont. Shiva will be observed privately. If desired, memorial donations can be made to the Baycrest Foundation (https://www.baycrestfoundation.org/Ways-to-Give/One-Time-or-Monthly-Donation) in lieu of flowers.
