Connie and Sam meant a lot to me. I met Sam soon after he bought his Bloor Street West store. After 10 years of calling him Mr. Simmons, he told me to call him Sam, Sam Heller. After over 30 years he invited me to have bagels and coffee to meet his wife, Connie. We bonded so quickly, it was amazing. Connie and I became friends. I saw her often with Sam after that. After Sam died, I began to visit Connie as regularly as possible for the next number of years until I could no longer make the trip, as it took me almost an hour plus from where I live. I am disabled making a visit often impossible. Then I started emailing and sending photographs of the family and where we were now and then and what we were doing. Her favourite pictures were from our son’s wedding in 2019 and then the birth of their daughter in late 2020. She adored pictures of the baby and always wanted more. I loved first Sam, and then Connie, for so many years that it doesn't seem real that they are now both gone. Connie was kind, sweet, thoughtful and enthusiastic about life most of the time. I loved her and have missed seeing her personally since Covid. May Connie rejoin Sam and rest in peace, and may her memories be a blessing. Finally, my heartfelt thanks to Sue for efforts to help Connie and I connect.

I am so sorry on hearing of Connies passing. A sweeter and kinder person you could never meet. Through bowling and lunches we had so much fun and good memories. That is how I will always remember Connie.

I was so sorry and sad to hear of Connie's passing. She always had a smile and was excited to see me when I came to visit my parents at Thornmill. I had the pleasure of eating lunch with her whenever I came during that time. Connie was always full of smiles and happy to ask me how I was doing. She will me missed.
