KUSSNER, Connie – On Wednesday, October 19, 2022

It is with immense sorrow that we announce the passing of Connie (Monson) Kussner, loving mother and mother-in-law of Mindy and Jeremy Alter, John Kussner and Julia Greenfield, Francy Kussner and Arthur Yallen, Barney (z”l) and Lisa Kussner, and Sara Kussner.

Beloved Bubbie to Norman, Lainie and Gabriel Yallen, Harrison & Ksenia, Dylan and Emma Kussner and Noah Alter.

Wife of the late Dr. Norman Kussner (z”l), Dr. Joel Zeldin (z”l) and Louis Soberman (z”l).

Predeceased by her brothers and sisters-in-law Rabbi David and Sue Monson, Juair and Jean Monson, Danny and Edie Monson.

Adored by her many nieces and nephews.

Connie was a woman of incredible strength, intellect and zest for life who was a true matriarch – dedicated to her family and community.

Over the years, she was a devoted friend to many, and a fixture at Hadassah-Wizo events, various choirs, synagogue lunch and learns, the symphony and United Bakers.

She had a profound love for Israel and was proud to share that she was fortunate to travel there 18 times.

She sat proudly at the head of the table at countless Shabbat and holiday dinners.

She will be deeply missed. May her memory be for a blessing.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday October 20, 2022 at 11 am at Steeles Memorial Chapel, 350 Steeles Avenue West. Burial will take place at Mount Sinai Memorial Park, 986 Wilson Ave, Beth Sholom section.

Following the burial, family and friends are invited to 99 Brookview Dr.

The shiva will take place daily from 2-5pm and 7-9pm, concluding Wednesday morning, October 26, 2022 (there will be no shiva on Saturday).
