Surrounded by his family at North York General, on June 26, 2015. Predeceased by his first wife Shirley Farberman, & survived by his wife Sonia Farberman. Dear Father of Allan, Michael & Linda, Leslie & Joyce & Sharon (predeceased), Sheldon (predeceased) & Chrysta & Rob, Shane & Serena. Loving Grandfather of Bryan & Ilana, Laura & Carlos, Adam & Michelle, Hyla & Maurice, Elana & Neil, Rachel & Andrew, Ashley & Shawn, Andrew, Noah, Juilet, Aaron, Dylan and Kaithlyn. Great-Grandfather of Samuel, Adelle, Jaden, Noa, Jordan, Eli, Rory, Samatha and Lev. By Brother, Saul & Marcie Farberman. He will be sadly missed by all of his friends and extended family and his adopted sons’ Martin Sotirov & Marvin York. He was very fond of Sonia’s family especially her two boys Tyrone & Jerome Dickson. A funeral service will be held Monday, June 29^th, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Steeles Memorial Chapel, 350 Steeles Ave. W. Interment to follow at Mt. Sinai Memorial Park, Pride of Israel section. Shiva to be observed at 25 Greenwin Village Rd., Toronto. Memorial donations may be made to the David & Shirley Farberman Memorial Fund c/o Baycrest Hospital, 416-785-2875 or Shriners Hospital For Children, 416-633-6317.

Bryan Farberman

This is my bubbie and Zadie (who passed away suddenly yesterday). My zadie dave was a war hero, a free spirit, a joker who loved to laugh, a kind soul who always wanted the best for his family. You may have bought some candy from them at the CNE in the over 60 years they operated the candy stand on the main strip. I always admired his ability to tell it like it is with no fear of repercussions. Sometimes it would get him in trouble but he would shrug and say "well am I wrong?" And usually he was right just saying what everyone else was thinking. Shirley and Dave spent 62 years together and built a family with 5 sons, 13 grandchildren and countless great grandchildren. They were some of those special people you only come across a couple times in a lifetime and you grab hold because you can never get enough. Now they are back together. I think about them everyday and hear their guidance in my head. Especially my bubbies "who loves ya baby!" They were my grandparents but with all the love in their hearts they were so much more than that. They were everyone's grandparents. I love you and will miss you and will never forget the lessons you taught me and the light you shined on my life.

There is nothing tragic about a life so long and a man loved by so many people. Spending my life on the shows, I have infinite memories of Dave that will live on forever. Never was there a dull moment and never was there a time when a new story was not told or recounted. Walking the midway will never be quite the same knowing that Dave will not be around somewhere, but I am certain he will be joining the greatest show off earth with the rest of the gang who is waiting to deal him in!
