Freida, Shmuel and Saphi, I was shocked and saddened to hear of your brother and father. I only met him a couple of times and I think the last time was at your mother and grandmother. I remember your parents of Blessed Memory and their love and devotion to Shmuel and Saphi and how they would play with my son Yoni, when we were at 3000 Bathurst and then at Eitz Chaim when the boys were in school. I am so very saddened to hear of David’s passing. We were childhood friends from Bathurst Manor and attended Aitz Chaim school, played in bands as teens and spent hours laughing and joking together. Although we drifted apart after high school, to this day I have warm memories of David. My deepest sympathies to Nellie and all the family.

Way back in the heady and restless days of teen-hood, Dave (we called him "Dave") absolutely nailed the look of the mid-1960s British Invasion bands. So much so that when I first met him in high school, I was shocked that he didn't have a British accent. In bands, he earned neighbourhood celebrity, and he played bass like Bill Wyman of the Stones, angled upright, which of course, was wicked cool. He was unselfconscious, quiet, and self-possessed. It was a long time ago that we were friends, but I remember him vividly, a smart, funny, irreverent, and lovely soul.

Nellie and Freida I am so sorry to hear of David's passing. He was a very close friend at Mackenzie High School and also my involvement with him and the other guys in our band. He was a kind, gentle soul and was always good to me. I have nothing but wonderful memories of David and will miss him dearly. It has taken a long time to come to terms with David passing away. My mom told me how difficult it was for him in the last years. And for me it was heartbreaking to hear. My mom would visit and sit with him regularly as he was declining. He was always a feature in our family. And I have great memories of him and my mom sitting around the stereo listening to records smoking cigarettes late into the night. He was always laughing and joking with us as kids. I can hear his laugh to this day. He loved everything and everyone. Love M.P.
