Dr. Agnes Bimbi Kovacs

Dr. Agnes Bimbi Kovacs passed away in her 98^th amazing year. She was the most devoted mother to Dr. Tom, Kathy, Dr. Julie, and Dr. Susie, and their spouses Dr. Deirdre, Barry, and Dr. Steve; and the most loving and attentive grandmother to Dr. Alexander, Sarah, Dr. Trevor, Dr. Adam, Dr. Gabrielle, Jonathan, Sam, Jacob and Ellen. She is our ideal and inspiration. She was pre-deceased by the love of her life, Dr. Leslie Kovacs, whom she met at medical school in Brussels. Agnes had a zest for life unlike any other. She was a pediatrician, adored by her countless patients; many bringing their children and grandchildren to her. She only recently retired at age 89 years! She was a multi-talented woman, speaking 5 languages fluently; a player of musical instruments by ear, a gardener with the greenest of thumbs, an accomplished chef, a voracious reader, and an expert crossword puzzle solver. Her biggest gift of all was her generous spirit. Whether it was friend, patient or family member with her, one felt that you were the most important person on earth. And her laugh lit up the world. The family wishes to express heartfelt thanks for the gentle and compassionate care provided by Gemma, Magel and Nancy.

In the last few years, I have periodically checked any news online about Dr. Kovacs and whether she was still in practice. My brother, sister, and I were patients of hers. I have a vague recollection of her making house calls when I was sick as a child, in the sixties. She was also my two boys', and my sister's two daughters' pediatrician, all of whom are currently in their twenties & thirties. Dr. Kovacs had a heart of gold, and was a fierce advocate for her patients. When my youngest son was born, and developed jaundice, she made sure that I was able to stay in a room in the hospital with him until he was discharged after 4 days.. I later learned that other mothers were not as fortunate and were forced to stay in the hospital hallways or leave all together while their newborns were treated for the same condition as my son. My most sincere condolences go to Cathy, and other family members.

She was a great children doctor.My 3 kids who borned in Royal Vic Hospital in Montreal city were 100% taken care by her.Her daughter Cathy helped her it was unforgetable memories for us. I just came across this obituary for your beloved mother/grandmother, and I would like to offer my deepest sympathy for her loss. Dr. Kovacs was an incredible human being and an amazing doctor—she obviously found her calling in her career as pediatrician, and my children were two of the very many who were blessed to be under her care. May God rest her soul and keep her by His side, and may your family be spared further sorrow.

I just found out that Dr. Kovacs sadly passed away. My deepest condolences to the family. She was truly the best pediatrician - she did so much for my children especially for my son Romolo who at 4 years old developed Rheumatoid Arthritis. Everytime I asked her questions she would always had an answer which put my mind at ease. She loved her job and her patients immensely. Thank you Dr. Kovacs for all that you did for my children & all your patients. Heaven has gained a very special angel. You will truly be missed. The D'Ascanio Family
