It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. Benjamin Levine on March 10, 2023. His children, Jason Levine & Catey Shaw-Levine and Jonathan Levine will hold all the meaningful memories deep in their hearts. Loving Zadie to Wren and Brubeck Shaw-Levine, dear brother and brother-in-law to the late Debra & Jules Altman, Uncle to Suzanne & Stuart Gildenberg, David & Jolie Schiller Altman and Karen & Gary Saretsky.

Our special thanks to our amazing caregivers and wonderful doctors and nurses at North York General Hospital.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, March 13 @11 :00 a.m. at Pride of Israel section of Mount Sinai Memorial Park Cemetery. Following burial service friends and family are invited back to 113 Cowan Ave.

Jon, Jay, Catey, Wren, and Beck…Our hearts are filled with sadness for you. We know the hole that the loss of a loving parent can leave in our lives. The end of life is never easy. But, we also know that this pain can be soothed by memories that bring us joy. Our memories of Ben, going out on the boat, the excitement of going through locks, surrounded by beautiful scenery…those are what these two Californians will hold in our hearts. May all of your pain of this difficult time be eased by your happiest thoughts and memories of your dad, and may they bring you peace. Sending love and our deepest condolences.

Ben has been a part of my life for so many years. It is hard to believe that he is no longer here. He worked hard and long and has earned well-deserved respect. His sons have lost their father which is a grievous life experience, and family and friends will mourn his passing. . He suffered at the end and his passing brought him peace. May his memory be for a blessing.

Jason and Jon - Your Dad was an important part of our family and our lives for many years. From dinners to celebrations to vacations, we had the benefit of Ben's kindness, intellect and friendship- always. Ben was modest in terms of his worldly knowledge and he was a conversational pleasure. Ben always wanted to share his pride when it came to the two of you. He revelled in your accomplishments. Jay and Jon, although these last few months have been difficult and sad, my girls and I are truly grateful for the time that we were able to spend with your Dad. We always admired his good nature and positive attitude. We will remember his good company, his familiar smile and the very special pride that he held for his sons, Catey, Wren and Beck. Whenever our group had get togethers to discuss important issues such as politics, your Dad had to update us on his kids and of course those adorable grandkids. Baruch Dayan Baruch Dayan Ha'Emet- We are so saddened to learn that Ben has passed away, and send our sincerest condolences to his family. He was so proud of his sons Jason and Jonathan and their families. Phillip knew Ben and his lovely family from Windsor. They went to The University of Detroit Dental School together.
