I'm so sorry to hear, condolences to all of you from my daughters and myself.

Dear Reiter family, It is with great sadness that we heard about Ed's passing. We know how he struggled so hard and for so long with his illness. He was a great friend and great partner for over 40 years and a wonderful person. Susan and I and our whole family are with you in mourning.

Our deepest sympathy on your loss. I knew Ed for over 40 years personally and professionally. He was a true mensch. Always a smile on his face and a kind word for all. I'm so sad to learn about Ed's passing. We used to meet 3 times a week for years to drop and pick up the kids at Adath Israel. In the years since, we would run into each other at schul and in the neighbourhood. Ed always had a smile on his face and a story to relate proudly about one or other of the kids. To Tammy, my deepest condolences to you and your children, Justin, Stephanie, Kimberly, and Leora. Ed, was a dear friend of mine from the time I first met him as my dentist, when he was 24 years old, and I still a highschool student. I remember the day that I first met him like it was yesterday. My first wisdom tooth was growing in and I was in severe pain. His office, the Centennial Dental office was enroute from my home to my school, so I walked into the office and asked to see a dentist. At the time, Ed looked to me like a teenager, and I was immediately suspect that he could be a dental surgeon at such a young age. To me, he looked just a little bit older than I did. Of course, I was in pain, at the time time and I had never been to a dentist before, and this young guy was personable and smart, so I asked him to do whatever he needed to do to help alleviate my pain. After that first visit, he became my dentist, and as the years progressed we became friends, and in a very unique way, he became a mentor. Since then, I would visit his office every four to six months, and each time he would engage me in conversations about school and world events. I grew to admire him and to be inspired by him. By seeing Ed as a professional at such a very young age, and by him treating me the way he did, he inspired me to also become a professional. Unlike him, I went into law, becamer a lawyer, and eventually a judge. It was about 38 years ago that I first met Ed, and throughout those years, we developed a friendship that transcends a dentist-patient relationship. As the years progressed, each time I would visit him for my appointments, he would update me on all the positive developments in his life, such as his marriage to Tammy, and of course, the subsequent birth of Justin and Stephanie, and then that of Kimberly and and Leora. Ed was tremendously proud of his family, and the fact that his three daughters in a way followed in his footsteps, and are all became doctors, Dr. Reiters in their own right, an amazing accomplishment! Ed is one of the few people in my life who have seen me grown through the various stages of my life. Like my own family, each time that I would visit him, he would show me a file that he kept of all the news paper clippings that featured me, which dates back as early as when I was a young lawyer. I last visited Ed almost a year ago, on December 15th, 2019, and we spent about three hours just catching up old times. This visit was very special, and I am so grateful that I had the opportunity to spend some quality time with him, not knowing at the time, that it would be my last time seeing him. Ed impacted everyone who came in contact with him, and in a very profound way, he impacted me. I want to thank your family for sharing him with us. he will be forever missed, but he will continue to forever in our hearts. He will never be forgotten! Michael Tulloch

I was very saddened to hear about the passing of Dr. Reiter this morning. I was a patient of his for 40 years. We would often laugh about the first time I entered his office. He scared me that bad I jumped out of the chair and run out of the office. He never let me live that down. I will miss him. My condolences to his family.

My deepest condolences to the Reiter family. I started working in Ed’s office almost 30 years ago. Over the years Ed became a good friend, not just an employer. I watched his family grow and listened to all his stories of the kids experiences, and on many occasions he gave me advice with regards to my own children. Dr. Reiter was my family dentist for more than 20 years. He was a sweetheart of a person. So genuine and down to earth. I enjoyed his stories and our conversations about life, politics and family. He was very kind to me when my husband passed away. I am so sorry for your loss. To the family of Dr. Reiter, my deepest condolences. I learned of Ed's passing today and was truly saddened. I was his physiotherapist on 7SE at NYGH and he was quite honestly the highlight of my day. His personality lit up the room and we always had a good laugh working together. He always had a good attitude too, and I really admired that about him. My thoughts and prayers are with your family. May he rest in peace.
