Eleanor (Ellie) Kunigis Moidel passed on October 26, 2024. She is survived by her 3 children Ilana (Laura), Shari, and Mark; and her late husband Marvin Miller’s children Nancy, Danny and David. She was the youngest child of the late Aaron Kunigis and Sara Appelbaum.

She and Marvin enjoyed travel – especially to out of the way places that most people never experience. They always looked forward to attending the several Jewish Genealogy Conferences in the United States. Both loved their trips to Israel.

Ellie was a teacher par excellence. She used to say that she comes alive in the classroom with her elementary students and adult classes. Her specialty was teaching Yiddish, the all-encompassing language, its history, culture, music, and recipes. She loved writing and expressed herself well in English and Yiddish.

Ellie was an avid reader. Her two published memoirs teach us more than simply her biography.

Ellie will be missed by her many nieces, nephews and friends. Ellie was always there for her family, who often advised each other to reach out to her when they had a problem.  Rest in Peace Ellie.

May your name be for a blessing
