Dear Inga and Family, I am saddened to read the news of your dear mother’s passing. Memories of her have often crossed my mind. She was a dear friend of my Bubie Freda’s (Abramson) for decades and I first came to know her as a skilled seamstress. Any time I or my 2 sisters had anything that needed altering, we would load the bags into the car and make the trip to her home on Lawrence Ave. Often we would find my Bubie there as well and lots of debates around tucks and hemlines would ensue! I didn’t get to know your dad very well but remember him usually sitting in his chair in their immaculately kept living room. He always had a smile and a friendly hello for us. I was enthralled with the stories Bubie told me of how your parents came to meet and marry and how your mom taught herself English by reading romance novels. Anytime Bubie had something to do that she couldn’t handle physically, I’d remember her smile and say “ that’s ok, I will call Elizabeth. She will know what to do. “ In later years, after your dad passed, I’d often see her walking for exercise along Steele’s Ave. She was truly a force to be reckoned with. You have lost a true Matriarch of your family as she was a woman who maintained incredible strength, love and devotion for her family. Her memory is truly a blessing and may you shed no more tears. Dear Inga We have such fond memories of your mother over our lifetime. A very kind, warm and smart woman, who I always enjoyed talking with. A very dear friend to Jay's parents Frankie and Laurie and to Sylvia. Our sincerest condolences to you and your family. Love, Jay and Laura
