It is with great sadness we inform you that Emil Bienstock passed away on November 20, 2021. Beloved husband of Helen. Loving father and father-in-law of Sharon and Bram, and David and Carla. Cherished Zaidy to Aaron, Ricki, Joshua and Jenna. He will be sadly missed by his sister Lena and brother-in-law Gerry. Dear uncle to Andrea, Robin, Aaron, Rebecca, Seth, and Marc. Memorial donations may be made to Beit Halochem Canada 905-695-0611.

Dear David, Sharon, Lena and all extended family members, It is with deep sadness that we mourn the loss of one of our dearest and long time friends. We met the Bienstocks when we both bought our first homes in Downsview over 55 years ago. Our friendship and ongoing long term association and commitment between our families began and has remained for all these years. We watched our children grow up and celebrate many family simchas together. Unfortunately his dear wife Helen, was stricken with Alzheimer's over 3 years ago and will not even be aware of her husband's passing. May she not know of her terrible loss and remain comforted by her family.

I can't begin to share how many memories I have of your husband, father, brother dating from both my pre-Israel youthful days and since living again in Toronto. Emil and Helen were such fixtures at Beth David in so many ways. Emil loved, as much as anything else, his consistent presence, place, and participation in the Shabbat and weekday minyanim. Even on the most challenging of days, we knew we could count on him to help form that quorum at 8:00 AM. More than that, he was always willing to share his thoughts and opinions on a variety of topics in a most honest and forthright manner, most often with his disarming tinge of humour. While we certainly feel his absence, we mostly feel fortunate to have shared so many years of memorable experiences, and hope that those will offer you all no small measure of comfort in coping with your loss, Yehi Zichro Baruch
