The Waitzman family is sad to announce that Emile Waitzman passed away on December 24 at North York General Hospital after succumbing to a chronic infection. He was 88 years old. Emile was a devoted husband to Suzy (nee Leizner) for over 62 years. He was deeply loved by his children Ariel (and wife Nella) and Michelle (and husband Gerhard). He was immensely proud of his grandchildren, Jacob and Gillian, and felt privileged to see them become bright, successful, and caring young adults. Emile was born in Paris, France, and survived the Holocaust in his childhood. He built a wonderful life in Canada with his family, travelled the world, and loved to experience its many wonders. During his career as an accountant, he was a trusted advisor and often a close personal friend to his clients. The family would like to thank North York General Hospital, and especially Emile’s palliative care team led by Dr. Berlin, for the care they provided in his final days.
