Estelle Daniels

It is with great great sadness that I learn about the passing of Estelle. She was such a good friend to my parents, Larry and Fran and also to my sisters and I. She was always interested in our lives and wanted to hear about our careers and our kids. She had such a great smile and we loved to see her at all our simchas. She was one of a kind and very kind. She will be missed by all those lucky enough to have known her. May her memory be a blessing.

Estelle's parents & my grandparents, Willie & Minnie Brown, got together every Sunday night to play cards. They were known as the Sunday Club. Our families grew up together. The Sunday Club were at my parents, Lou & Doni's wedding. I have been in touch with Estelle over the years & am so sad to hear about her passing. We shared great memories. Pia

In the mid 80’s, when Estelle was the bookkeeper for our company, referred to us, by our friend and accountant Chuck Nagel, a financial situation arose, in response to which, Estelle, showed Fran and me, such a spontaneous act of kindness and generosity, that we could not believe and which we never forgot and never will. It was an extraordinary act of trust and friendship, well before Estelle and Fran and me actually became really good friends many years later. Everyone knows what a brilliantly funny storyteller Estelle was. But her Yiddish jokes had a special meaning for me, not because I understood them all that well, but because her yiddish jokes reminded me of my Dad, who had an equally Beloved reputation for telling such jokes when I was a teenager in London, England. And then, in recent weeks, when Estelle struggled valiantly with her own health problems, she made a point of keeping in touch with me, always asking how Fran was doing, as Fran battled with health issues. So all in all, Estelle was a very special person to Fran and me, whom we loved, as she was loved by so many in the Jewish community. Her passing is a terrible loss. Larry and Fran

Rich and I are so sad to hear about Estelle's passing. She was such a bright light and SO funny, such a joy to see in Florida, such a welcome presence at all our simchas. She will be missed every day.

I have known Estelle since I was 10 years old. She was always a lady and often we would run into each other over the years at Legend for dim sum. Your smiling face and good heart will be missed by so many. May all her extremely close family and friends draw strenght from the great memories you all shared together and may you know no more sorrows.

It is with great sadness that I extend my condolences to Estelle’s family and to Surie. Estelle was both special and funny. She told yiddish jokes with the best delivery I know. She would say tell me if you heard this joke before but I never did. I let her tell it because she laughed like she heard it for the first time. I will miss her and our dinners. My friend RIP

Hainny and I knew Estelle from the time we were teenagers. In fact, she lived on Prince Charles Drive (at the other end of the street from me.) Estelle had a presence. She was funny and engaging. We always enjoyed bumping into her somewhere. Sorry to hear this news. Sandy Offenheim

I am saddened to learn of Estelle’s passing. We knew each other from Grace St School. Her wonderful parents ran Daniel’s Shoe Store. Our young adult friends tried to make a Shidach but to no avail. Yiddishkyte was her forte. Estelle made you smile. She will be sadly missed.

I had the pleasure of meeting her when she first visited Brazil in 1968. Estelle was always very friendly, full of joy and I keep good memories of her. My sister, Emy was married to her cousin Lejbus Wajsenzon. Years later, in 1991, my husband and I were in Toronto where we had the pleasure of being with Estelle again, as well as in her other visits to Brazil. Me and my brother grew up hearing my father fondly telling us about his dear Canadian cousin, Estelle. My morher always had her great appreciation. When she first came to Rio I was almost a baby and couldn't remember. Later in the 1980's she came again. Since then, I got my impressions which corresponded to be the best. Estelle always had that great smile, was full of joy and a positive person to everybody around her. My mother also shares this opinion. In 1998, when my brother Alexandre got married, I had the privilege to spent such a good time at a hotel swimming pool with Estelle and our cousin Silvia, who then, I first met. My mum remember the great hostess Silvia was when she and my brother visited her in Tamarac. Estelle, of course, didn't missed that: she came then form Toronto to enjoy their visit. Mum has such good memories of both cousins. This world is now less bright and more sad. My cousin Estelle will always be in my heart as exactly as my dad said. I will remember her as a happy, vibrant, friendly and a person who loved her family. May God keep Estelle. Our sincere condolences to all the family. She'll always be in our hearts. Lorraine and i were saddened to learn of Estelle's passing. We were friends for many years and Estelle had a hand in our getting together a few? years ago. Whenever we would meet, Estelle would have a Yiddish joke and conversation with Lorraine. She was always smiling. May she rest in peace.

I was very sad to hear about the passing of Estelle. I have known Estelle since the 50's at the Bloor Y . I remember her as a good dancer, a great tennis player at the north Y and lots of fun. Dear family of Estelle and Surie, I was so saddened and shocked to hear that Estelle has passed away. I echo everyone’s fond memories of Estelle -larger than life, charismatic, entertaining and a true “mensch”. She was a “presence” and loved to hold court, making everyone laugh hysterically with her impeccable Yiddish accent. She touched so many lives and will be sadly missed by all.

I was so surprised and sad to find out about Estelle's passing. Our parents were very good friends (the Sunday Club) many many decades ago, and recently Estelle and I found each other again. It was a wonderful experience to reminisce about the past and share stories and photos of some of the otherwise long forgotten memories. I will continue to remember and cherish your calls and the special virtual time we spent together recently.

Estelle made everyone feel not just like they were a special friend but like family as well. She was always so warm and welcoming, with a large smile from ear to ear. You couldn’t help but smile and be happy in her presence. I was very sad to hear of her passing. Condolences to Surie and family.
