rnA Holocaust Survivor. Peacefully, surrounded by her family on Thursday, April 30, 2015 in her 97th year. Beloved wife of the late Harry Chaim. Dear mother of Barry, and Sam and his wife Roz. Beloved and devoted grandmother of Joshua, David and Daniel, Heidi and Carl Berger, Sheri and Mike Helman, Erin and Andrew Lazer, and great-grandmother of Marley and Ashton, Mason and Cori, Myla and Joey. Survived by her brother, Mietek Birecki, of Whiting, New Jersey. Predeceased by her beloved parents, Berl and Golda, brothers Avrum Abish and Yechaskel Simcha, all who perished in the Holocaust. Predeceased by her sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and Jack Chaim. Will be sadly missed by her niece, nephews, great nieces and nephews and many family and friends. A funeral service will be held at Shaarei Tefillah Congregation, 3600 Bathurst Street, on Friday, May 1, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Mount Sinai Memorial Park, Shaarei Tefillah section. Shiva will be observed at 157 Regina Ave. daily from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., 2 to 5 p.m. and from 7 p.m. Daily services at 7:30 a.m., (Sunday 9 a.m.) and 8 p.m. Profound gratitude to Dr. Victor Cellarius and the Temmy Latner palliative team and devoted caregivers Renata and Emily.
