Evelyn Rabkin, 104 years old, beloved mother, grandmother, sister and aunt,passed away calmly on Saturday evening at Markham Stouffville Hospital. Born in Montreal on April 2, 1918 to parents Ben and Rebecca Useden, Evelyn was a child of the Spanish Flu, World War One and then the Depression. Evelyn met Jack Rabkin, who was visiting from St. John New Brunswick while at a WW II bond raising party, and they married August 1940. Evelyn is survived by her 3 sons with Jack; Alan (Mattie), Steven (Lek) and Howard (Janet), three grandchildren Ben, Chad and Lee and her sister

Lillian, her niece Carol (Thom) and grand-niece Flora, and was pre-deceased by her niece Susan. After her husband Jack died in 1997, Evelyn was remarried to Ed Yuditsky who passed away in 2011. Evelyn always lived life to the fullest. She worked all her life and once she retired enjoyed every moment. She was a speaker and fund raiser for The United Way, various other charities and was beloved by everyone who met her. In lieu of flowers, you may send a donation in her name to the Bernard Betel Centre, which was a major part of her life when she moved to Toronto. The funeral service will be held at Steeles Memorial Chapel 350 Steeles Ave West, Thornhill on Monday January 9 at 11:00 and the burial will be at Pardes Shalom Cemetery 10953 Dufferin Street,Vaughan.
