Our beloved mother and family matriarch passed away on Friday November 20, 2020 which would have been her 71st wedding anniversary. A remarkable woman, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, and friend to many, she will be dearly missed. Beloved wife of the late Alfred (Freddy), who passed away in 1996, loving mother to Helen (Sheldon) Herscu, and Michelle (Joseph) Strul. Cherished grandmother of Jennifer Strul (John Avon), Estelle Herscu, Arlene (Niv) Biran, Ian Strul (Joanna Vieira) and Corey (Tamara) Herscu. Proud great grandmother of Alyza, Tommy, Talya, Maddy, Noa, Yale and Carter. She was loved and cherished by many and will be deeply missed. Dear extended family of Nina Rozeiu, Our heartfelt condolences on the loss of your matriarch who was a sweet and courageous lady. A chance meeting on a street in Lake George in 1966 led to a lifelong friendship between the Rozeiu and Marcovitz families, and to the re-connection between the Rozeiu and Miresco relatives who were each unaware that the others had succeeded to leave Romania and immigrate to Canada. After that we were blessed to celebrate many happy occasions together, including our own marriage. Hard to gather the thoughts and memories of so many years in which Nina was always a special friend and to try to fill a space which cannot be filled anymore. It is a big loss for all who knew Nina, an exceptional mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. It is also a loss for us, her friends. We will all miss her but she leaves behind an amazing family and, for us, wonderful memories of 46 years of friendship.
