Fanny was born in Kozhan-Gorodok in Belarus and emigrated aged nine with her family to Cape Town, South Africa.
Manuel, her husband died suddenly and tragically and Fanny at the age of 43 then had to support her three children and take over a business with no previous experience – and managed to do this, thrive and prosper.
Fanny was a woman of incredible strength, integrity, ability and intellect who dedicated herself to her children and as a true matriarch, her wider Kolnik family spread around the world.
She emigrated again to Canada when in her late 60’s to be with her three children and was the proud grandmother of six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Fanny set an example by the way she lived that had a huge impact on her family and left us a great legacy.
