EISEN, Florence – Peacefully in her 100th year. Beloved wife of the late Allan. Dear mother of Elly, Chuck and Faigie, Bob Dirstein and the late Johnnie. Loving Grandma of Dale and Lori, Jason and Seiko, Lisa and Mike, Daniel and Jaclyn and great-grandmother of Samantha, Cole, Asia and Tao, Isaac and Jacob. Dear sister of Jerry and Florry Seigel and the late Muriel Rosen.

I have so many wonderful memories of my dear Aunty Florence, especially our gatherings for the Jewish holidays with the entire family crowded around the table, eating delicious food. Elly, Bob, Chuck and Faigie and Johnnie (RIP)..............my dear cousins, Although expected and 6 weeks away from 100, I am saddened that I will never see or talk to her [my birthday calls that I have done for over 50 years in a row!] Only one left!! I loved Auntie Florence all my life, even if it pissed my mom off!! To the whole Eisen related family, I hope that you will always have great memories of your time with her.

To all my cousins, I am sorry for your loss. Although I am in my mid-50's now, I still remember how when I was really little, about 3 years old, that I couldn't pronounce the name "Florence", and instead would call her "Aunty Sunnence". I remember being at family gatherings where she would ask me to say her name and then have a good laugh over my flubbed pronunciation. In later years I had some good conversations with her, mostly where she would tell me stories about her parents, helping to paint a picture for me as to what they were like and how the family had to bond together to survive the Great Depression. Good memories, for sure. Goodbye Aunty Sunnence and may you find eternal peace.

How can anyone ever forget our ‘Dearest Aunt Flossie’ ? She was the best, with her ‘kindness’ to all...her charming smiles, her upbeat personality, & sense of humour ! Aunt Flossie (as we always called her) was so warm & always welcomed {us all} with an opened heart. She was like our ‘second mother’ . Now she can ‘R.I.P’... .as we continue to remember the good times we had with her & ‘her’ fabulous birthday celebrations...which we were always so grateful to be included in. We were..and will..continue to be very proud of being a part of her life •••

From cousin Susan Koffler Beckerman: I think of Auntie Florence z"l often. She joined us at home for a luncheon to meet our first son, indeed her great-great nephew! I loved dropping in to see her at Way to Go Travel Shop when downtown. I felt very appreciated. We still enjoy her amazing Pecan Square recipe, and thoughts of her warm and caring way of being. May you be comforted with the mourners of Tzion and Yerushalayim and be spared further sorrow.
