With sadness we regretfully advise you of the loss of our dear Faigie at Baycrest Hospital on Erev Shabbos 6 Cheshvan. She will be missed by her many many friends and relatives. Faigie was a teacher, world traveler, and spent most of her retirement doing good deeds for others in the community.

Fagie had been a longtime friend, We shared Shabbos lunches, outings. She was a dear guest at my milestone birthday five years ago and we took in a Blue Jays game with incredible view right on the ground level by way of ridiculously expensive tickets that I had won. The Jay's did abysmally with a Zero score. We had not been in frequent touch during the last few years but had spoken on the phone during the earlier part of her illness. We both loved travel and had shared many tales of our combined extensive world travel. I'm sad to know that she has now left this world and know that her presence in Gan Eden will now be free of her debilitating physical condition. Her Neshama should have an Aliyah in Shomayim. I was blessed to meet Faige just over two years ago. I lived across the street, and we would spend time together. We had similar life journeys, and I felt like she just got me. I enjoyed our conversations about life, our Jewish journeys and going to seminary in Israel. Faige was so special, and I’m so grateful for our time together. May her memory forever be for a blessing.

I knew Florence for well over ten years, as a student in my Feldenkrais classes (movement), through our private work together, and over Zoom during the pandemic, when she was still at home. Over the years, she became my friend as well as my student. She was the epitome of a life-long learner and searcher--playful, curious, independent, open-minded, and generous--with a solid moral centre. She was also a great sweet tooth, and our private sessions were often extended as she offered me one of her delicious homemade, and healthy, desserts! I'll really miss her.

I’ve known Faigie for the last 37 years, where we first met at an Ohr Sa’me’ach retreat at Fort Erie. Her smile and exuberance were significant. Next, about 15 years later, I was very involved with Faigie’s leadership of the Chesed committee at Adath Israel Synagogue. I was very happy helping Faigie with some mobility challenges over a few years starting some 10 years ago to go shopping with her and doctor’s appointments which Faigie made interesting by going to some off the beaten path Toronto locations, having lunch, discussing Yiddiskeit, her travels and culture and her wonderful dedication of the park bench in honour of her parents. Your neshamah will be for a great blessing !

All of us at Bikur Cholim were so sad to hear of the passing of Faigy. She was part of our Bikur Cholim Family. She was always a ray of sunshine and always made us smile. She will be missed by us all and will never be forgotten
