It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Frances, “Faygie” Gotkin, our Matriarch, in her 91st year, on Saturday, December 13, 2025. Devoted daughter of Harry “Tzvi” (z’l) and Rifka (z’l) (nee Wasserman) Silverman. She leaves behind her soulmate  of 71 years Jerry “Yudy” Gotkin. She will be forever missed  by her children: Michael and Jody (z’l), Stephen and Francine, Sam and Taly Shewchuk, and Dani Gotkin (z’l). Cherished grandmother of Shane and Shirley Lin, Zak and Laura, Hannah, Ryan, Aaron, Sarina, Allan Shewchuk, and Kayla Shewchuk. Proud great-grandmother of Max … still praying for more! Survived by her siblings Sheldon and Helene Silverman, and Moishe and Rochel Silverman, brother-in-law Roy Agar. Predeceased by her sister Honey Agar (z’l), brother-in-law Barry (z’l) and his wife Joan Gotkin (z’l). Leaves behind her BFF Dorothy Feldman, many cousins and friends.

Born in downtown Toronto, now Chinatown. She knew your cousins, cousin on your mothers side twice removed and would tell you their story. It was all about family and friends, being healthy and living a happy life. Reading her paper on the back deck, traveling and telling stories.

Shiva observances: 83 Cezanne Trail, Thornhill, L4J 9B9. Shiva visits Monday immediately after the service till 9 p.m.; Tuesday and Wednesday 1 to 4 p.m., and 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. Evening services at 7:30 p.m. Shiva visits will conclude Wednesday evening, December 17th.

A visitation for the residents of 2 Neptune Dr., Toronto will be held for Jerry on the 9th Floor on Thursday December 18th from 2:00 – 4:00pm
