Private Family Service

We regret to announce the death on 27th Iyar, 21st May 2020, at the age of 89, of Fayge Joseph (nee Sachs) at Hill House Hospice.
From a young girl of four siblings in Khust, Czechoslovakia, she survived the ghetto, and Auschwitz, along with her sister Shantze, and brother Alter. Immediately after the war, this nearly-16-year-old girl married Yossi, the yeshiva bocher. They fled to Austria when the Communists took over Czechoslovakia. They were originally hoping to go on Aliya to Israel, before actually arriving in Canada in 1951. They settled initially in Hamilton, where Janice and Susan were born, before moving to Toronto for the girls in 1972.
She leaves her children Janice & Albert Kirshen, and Susan & Isaac Ginz; grandchildren Chayim & Erin, Aliza & Choni, Michelle & Dan, and Melissa & Mike; and her great-grandchildren Ma’ayan, Adi, Jonah, Lielle, Ami, Cole, Jaimie, Shai, Elad, and Riley. The family wishes to thank Dr. Berger and his colleagues for their warmth, kindness, and exceptional care, and to Hill House, who so generously let us see mum in her last days.
If desired, donations may be made to Bikkur Cholim, Toronto, Chai Lifeline Canada, or The Association for the Soldiers of Israel – Canada.

May her memory be for a blessing
