DEAR NATALIE AND STUART: IT IS WITH MUCH SADNESS THAT I HAVE LEARNED OF THE PASSING OF FRANCES. AS YOU WELL KNOW WE WENT BACK SO MANY YEARS ACTUALLY MOTE AND MAX WERE BOYHOOD BUDDIES LONG BEFORE I CAME ON THE SCENE. AND TROUGHOUT OUR MARRIED LIVES WE WERE ALL FRIENDS. NOT A YEAR PASSED BY WHEN WE DIDNT GET A PHONE CALL FROM FRANCES TO WISH US HAPPY ANNIVERSARY. FRANCES WAS A VERY QUIET AND KIND WOMAN WHO LOVED HER FAMILY AS WELL AS HER RELATIVES. WHEN THEY CAME TO TOWN THEY ALWAYS STAYED WITH THE LEVSONS. I CAN ONLY HOPE THAT THE MANY GOOD TIMES AND MEMORIES WILL SUSTAIN ALL OF YOU DURING THESE DIFFICULT TIMES. Nat & Stu, my life truly began on Searle Ave.and I hold everyone on our little block, kids and parents alike, in the highest esteem. I feel your grief, I feel your pain, but those 2 emotions wouldn't be there if it wasn't for the highest love you have, and will continue to have, for your sweet mom. She has said "good-bye" only temporarily to you, but a big, permanent "hello" to your dad and Arthur, where there are celebrations galore, and where pain doesn't exist. Think of that if the pain of grief comes over you. And to you, Frances, Bravo ! you did a wonderful job here on earth. You filled your household, and our "little block" with unmitigated and absolute love and warmth. Your mothering was nothing short of excellent, proof of which is that you gave us Arthur (whom I thank for being instrumental in shaping me for a life of music), and the always amazing Natalie, (with whom I proudly share my birthday) and the ever adorable Stuart, who was Searle Ave.'s life of the party and introduced the world to the latest dance craze.(The world thanks you, Stuart.) Thank you, Frances, for being kind, gentle, sweet and a great cook. Thank you for gracing us with your presence. Much love is being sent your way..............much love...........

Natalie and family, I'm so sorry to hear about your mom's passing. I have such fond memories of her - as a kid, I never understood how she had the same name as my mom. Lucky for me (and my family) that she helped to set up my parents back in the day. The benefit of Joe and Goldie connecting our two families. I'm sorry that I'll be away next week and won't be able to give you a hug. xoxo
