A sad day for all his family and friends. Fred's nature, his kindness and support, shone through after I had just joined the CHS family. Fred was so helpful in terms of getting me a passport so that I could spend the last hours with my mom in the UK after she had collapsed on vacation. I will always remember and be thankful to him.

I first met Fred when he was sitting in the fianaical services area waiting for an interview at the Canadian Hearing Society. Shortly after that he was my boss, my mentor and a wonderful person to work with. I learned so much from Fred. He was kind, understanding and a wonderful person. His dog Lobo and I got along very well too. Fred was a person to be admired and respected for who he was. So very sad to know of his passing.

I am saddened to learn about Fred's passing. I used to work with him at CHS for several years. He was big on team building; loves to surprise his team by bringing food/ drinks for the entire gang on the 5th floor at CHS. I suspected it usually comes from his own pocket. He would have a big grin on his face when we are in our high spirits. He was a good listener and followed his instinct when we all had to make some tough decisions; sometimes via some controversial circumstances. Freddy, the "money guy" I called him when my children came to visit his office...my children also wanted to greet his dog, Lobo. Jo-Ann, Blake & Tamara, my condolences from my home to yours. Fred was always proud of his family. He loved to talk about you all and these fun camping trips.

To the Enzel Family - Fond memories of Fred from Mackenzie band days. Even before you knew him, know that he had already touched many lives. He was there for so many of us with his warmth, acceptance and humour, offering unconditional friendship and support at a time when our lives could be so vulnerable. I would run into him occasionally since then and was always glad to catch up as if no time had passed, and hear about his family, pets and his latest adventure. Lorin MacDonald

Fred and I first met many years ago when I was on the Board of the Canadian Hearing Society. I later recruited him to be on the Board of the Canadian Hard of Hearing Association (CHHA), and he willingly accepted. Even after we were no longer involved with CHHA, Fred and I maintained a close relationship and I held him in high regard, chatting away frequently online about the minutia of life. May the many memories you have of Fred bring you comfort now and in the days ahead.

Dear Enzel Family, I was so saddened to learn of Fred’s passing. I was one of the Reiner Rd. friends and schoolmate of Fred. He was always kind hearted, knowledgeable and always willing to help when needed. I can see by the obituary he had a wonderful family. I still have alot of fond memories of our younger years.
