Peacefully on March 2, 2016, Fred beloved husband of the late Lillian. Loving father and father-in-law of Michael and Marlene, Hartley and Shelley, Marty and Sharon. Devoted grandfather of Jeff and Tanya, Jillian, Joshua, Ryan, Cory, and great-grandfather of Lucas, and Marianne. Special thanks to Rose for her care and compassion. Shiva Details: Entrance is off Yonge St., on Kemford (1 light south of Finch on west side). Daily from 2-4pm & 7-9pm and Saturday only in the evening from 7-9pm. Shiva concludes Wednesday evening March 9th.

Dear Kestenberg Family my deepest sympathy on the loss of Freddy, a very old family friend to my parents Eileen and Artie Britt ZL. My memories and stories of Fred and Lil go back many years, I hope those vivid memories help you through this difficult time. Darlene and Steven Wolk

Dear cousins. We have many memories of your dad, most especially in the past few years when we would get together for family functions and at the Jewish holidays. We would laugh and talk about times past but also about the future. Your dad was always a welcome addition to our family gatherings. Our memories go back to the years at the drugstore when he worked with our dad and where each of our children would work and learn from Uncle Fred. He was a wise man. Rather than be sad, We should celebrate his life and his wisdom. Many years ago, your dad gave Steve a blue winter jacket which didn't fit uncle. Steve has worn it ever since. It is his favourite jacket. Recently your dad told Steve that he had more clothes for him and the next time we got together he would bring them. Well, We won't have the clothes but we will have the memories.

Michael, Hartley and Marty I am so sorry to hear about the passing of your dad. Freddy was always a big part of my parents Mike and Jackie's lives, and therefore also mine and my sisters Deeci and Reesa. The last time I saw him and you guys was at my dad's funeral years ago, but anytime I drive by Charlton or am in the area of Woodgreen Drugs I think of him. Freddy, have fun with my dad!!! and your brother Sidney, and all the others from the Lodge!! You will be missed

Dear Kestenberg family, I am sorry to hear of Fred's passing. Those years working with him in the pharmacy brought back many fond memories. Just his great presence made the workplace a lot safer for me and his jokes always made me laugh. I always felt that he treated me like a daughter, bringing us bagels and asking me to make him his favorite Chinese food for lunch. It didn't seem that long ago that he came into my pharmacy for a visit. Fred, you were a wonderful mentor to me and will be truly missed.
