Eisen, Freda (nee Luftspring).
Peacefully in her 103rd year at Baycrest Apotex on December 22, 2020. Devoted daughter of the late Joseph and Bella Luftspring, beloved wife of the late Max Eisen, cherished mother and mother-in-law of Howard and Lynn, and Michael and Cathy. Freda was the last of nine siblings. A private graveside service was held at Slipia section of Dawes Road Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Baycrest Foundation (416) 785-2875.

Michael and Cathy I remember Freda fondly from our trip to Myrtle Beach. Freda always asked after me and I kept in touch through Cathy. Freda led a long life but this pandemic did not help over the last year. Michael, I know she appreciated all that you did for her and made her life loving and comfortable. Some of my earliest childhood memories are of Freda: walking along Myrtle Beach or chatting on the couch during family get-togethers. She was always quick-witted and generous with compliments. In her later years, my kids and I were able to reconnect with her through visits to Baycrest. Even as a centenarian, Freda remained a fiery, independent woman. We will miss her high-fives, wheelchair shimmies and stories, the most. We love you Freda and hope that you are at peace with the rest of your siblings, husband and parents.

Michael, Howard, Cathy and Lynn, we are so sorry about the loss of your mom Freda. We haven’t seen her since around her 100th birthday and even then she was the same lady we grew to love. Mike, you have been a wonderful support for your mom through all the years. We love all of you and you will remain in our prayers as you mourn the loss of your mom.

To Freda's Family: We came to know your mother in her last years, when we visited our father at Baycrest. We can only imagine what a spirited woman she must have been in her youth; full of spark and a lust for life, which was obvious by the number of years she was with you. She told a great many stories (sprinkled with some Yiddish) and loved to sing and dance. When the youngest one in our family came around, the two of them would dance together, with Freda lifting up her arms with joy. May you be comforted by your wonderful memories of her. Freda was kind and very supportive. We had a close relationship from the first time we met. We loved to talk sports, including her going to one of my hockey games. She would always ask about my family and wanting to make sure we were all doing well. My family and I will miss her, we love you Freda. Praying for the family!

I am truly honoured to have known such a loving, funny, strong woman. Freda brought so much joy to our lives, our visits to Baycrest were always a highlight, nothing better than walking through those doors and seeing her radiant smile. She was always full of life and I loved listening to her stories. Not to mention her ongoing love affair with Encarnación. Her memory will live on forever in our hearts. Love you, Freda.

I was very sorry to hear that my Aunty Freda has passed away. She was always my closest aunt and my Mother's (Jean) closest sister. When I called and visited her, a couple of years ago at Baycrest, to wish her a Happy Birthday she told me "Never mind all this birthday stuff, but why did the Blue Jay's coach take Stroman out in the fifth inning, when he was pitching extremely well, the Jays were up by 2 runs, and as result they lost the game. " She was always a sharp person, no matter the conversation.
