Gabriella Vadas, affectionately known as Mama, by all who knew her, passed away peacefully early Wednesday morning, December 7, at the MacKenzie Richmond Hill Hospital, with her daughter Sue at her side. Mama had just celebrated her 99th birthday last week. She was a Holocaust survivor who loved life and everyone she met but her greatest love was for her family; her beloved husband, Jeno Vadas and dear sister Lola Sugar who had both predeceased her, her daughter Sue and husband Michael, her grandchildren and their spouses; Steve and Jill, Elliott and Laura and Rachel and Aaron, and especially her great-grandchildren, Jonah, Sam, Kyla, Olivia and Camryn.

Mama was an incredibly kind, loving and generous soul. She instantly loved everyone she met and everyone who knew her, could not help but love her as well.

A special thank you to all the staff at the Sunrise Thornhill Senior Residence, where Mama spent the last 12 years of her life, for the loving care they all provided her with. Also a big thank you to the nurses and doctors at the Mackenzie Hospital emergency department for the kind and loving care they provided for Mama in the last hours of her life.

Memorial donations for Mama can be made to the charity of your choice.
