It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of George Vero at 87-years-old. Son of the late Aladar and Gabriella Vero, George leaves his family Maria, Vanessa, David, Stephanie, Ryan, Eric, Jennie, Yehuda, Chavi, Meira, and Kayla. As well as his cousins the Verebes family. George will be missed by his friends, extended family, and everyone who knew him. Memorial donations can be made to Friends of the Simon Wiesenthal Center for Holocaust Studies (https://www.fswc.ca/).

Yahrzeit Day: 16 Shevat

Date of Funeral: Sunday, January 28, 2024

Time of Funeral: 12:00 PM

Memorial Service Location: Steeles Memorial Chapel Service

Burial Service Location: Pardes Chaim Cemetery (11818 Bathurst St., Vaughan) - Beth David Synagogue Section

Shiva Details: Shiva visits immediately following the interment, and daily from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Shiva concludes Friday morning, February 2nd.

Sean Doherty

George took a chance and hired me at RBC, then mentored me over many years. His answer to a good many of my questions was, "Yes and no." That was George. He was a gentle, patient, thoughtful friend and I will miss him. Barb and I extend our sincerest condolences to George's family. Sean Doherty

I had known George at work for a number of years. However I got to know George much better when he was contracted to work on a project with me. He was a kind and caring friend whose knowledge and assistance was key to its success. I will always remember him and those times. My deepest condolences to George’s family.

marcsikam nagyon sokat gondolunk ratok és sajnáljuk hogy a távolság miatt nem lehetunk ott a temetésen. gyurit a család minden tagja nagyon szerette nagyon fog hiányozni deruje, szeretteljes mosolya, vidámsága, egy orom volt számunkra mikor itt volt.

Our deepest condolences to you Marika and family. I was in shock to find out the sad news, he was such nice person to know. He used to come visit my Aunt Edith when we used to come to Toronto and he always had a smile on his face. May his neshama have an Aliya, and may you only have nachas from your kids and grandchildren.

George was my manager at RBC for quite a few years. Despite the challenges our department often faced he rarely lost his cool. He treated me with such kindness and respect and I loved his dry, quirky sense of humour. My deepest sympathy to the family…George will be missed.
