Today we lost our Queen, the best wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend we have ever known, Ginger Mittleman. She was wife of Mark Mittleman, mother to Josie Mittleman (Jeremy Dysch) and Erin Weinroth (Isaac Weinroth), sister to Frank Entis (Shirley Entis), Michael Entis (Phyllis Entis), and Bubbi to Dalia Mittleman, Meghan Weinroth, Matthew Weinroth, Elijah Weinroth, and Alexa Dysch (Michael Shoemaker). She will be missed by all of her friends in Toronto and in Florida.

Mom started her life in Montreal and moved with Dad to Toronto with a quick stop in London, England. Mom became a mother in 1972 and then again in 1978 and her greatest joy was her children and grandchildren. Mom started her career as a nurse in the UK (although don’t ask her for medical advice) and then became a social worker when she moved to Toronto. During her time as a social worker, she was very involved in volunteering at our schools and being a big part of the  National Council of Jewish Women. Mom eventually started working for the Zukerman Family Foundation where her and Helen created the Toronto Jewish Film Festival (t-shirt included).

Mom loved her friends who were always like family. Big family get-togethers, football in the streets and Chanukah parties were some of her favorite activities. Of course…superbowl…GO BILLS and baseball GO JAYS!  She loved cooking, baking, and hosting all of her friends in her home for many occasions. She would make special dishes for certain people (aka Harvey), fight politics with certain friends (aka Derek)  and she loved having her family around her for all of the Jewish holidays. She loved her mahjong group, book club, and all the other games she played throughout the week with friends. She mostly loved a fancy restaurant, a good glass of red wine, and visiting a fancy spa (aka Four Seasons).

She will be missed greatly by everyone. Love you, Mom and say hi to Dad (don’t yell at him too much)! We are so happy you are together again!

Florida Friends/Family: Funeral live-stream will take place at Josie Mittleman’s house 8370 Via Leonessa, Boca Raton, FL 33433 from 1:00 p.m. to the end. Please send a text to Josie (561-221-8515) if you would like to attend so she can add your name to the gate.
