Gladys Spain (Gita bat Gedalliah ve necha) passed away unexpectedly on November 2, 2022, just shy of her 102nd birthday.

Gladys was a wonderful mother to Elisabeth (zl), Meriel, Niall and Alison. She was a dedicated grandmother to Emma, Albert, Benjamin, Elliott, Michael, Ronit, Brandon, Liat, Ben and Beth (zl). She was a proud great grandmother to Liam. Beloved sister of Walter and Fanny Robinson and the late Roz and Martin Zuger (zl) and Harold and Nancy Robinson (zl). Born in Dublin in 1920, she was well ahead of her time and loved the arts, reading and a good hot cup of tea. Gladys endured many challenges during her life but always maintained a positive and non-judgemental outlook on life, which she imparted to her children. A special thanks to the great staff at the Baycrest (Apotex 7S) and Sabina Perez who took wonderful care of Gladys. Memorial donations can be made to Crohn’s and Colitis Canada, Canadian Hadassah WIZO, City of Hope – Let’s Cancel Blood Cancer Together and Papyrus UK. She was an inspirational legend who will be missed terribly by her family and friends. Shiva details are below.
