Gloria Fuerstenberg (nee Lidsky)
Passed away on October 3rd, 2023 and will be sadly missed by her beloved children Glenda Fuerstenberg, Zack & Dana (Glassman) Fuerstenberg, and Ariela Fuerstenberg & Ben Cope, and by her brother and sister-in-law Arnold & Margo Lidsky and sister-in-law Anna Fuerstenberg. Loving Bubbie of Benjy, Maya and Lea and aunt of Shawna and Kara. Adored wife of the late Professor Adam Fuerstenberg (z’l), and cherished daughter of the late Nathan and Fanny Lidsky (z’l) of Montreal.
Gloria was a much-loved art teacher who was dedicated to her family, friends, and community. Gloria cared deeply about her faith, art, and literature. She taught art and inspired multiple generations of students at Ulpanot Orot Girls High School. One of Gloria’s greatest passions was to prepare meals and celebrate Shabbat and the Jewish holidays around her dining room table, surrounded by close family and friends who delighted in her delicious cooking and baking.
Gloria will be remembered for her kind heart, her generous spirit, her wisdom, and her unwavering faith. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. It’s hard to grasp the enormity of the number of lives she touched with her love.
Her family would like to thank the countless medical professionals who worked hard to heal Gloria and the many close friends who supported her.
We are fortunate that Tobey Lavine spent the past year working with Gloria to help her tell her life story and lessons in a Lifeisodes video (available at this link: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/3cf3p8z9nahg9z68t04z9/Gloria-F.mov?rlkey=hp5tvbmc83s4c9zzb3w8xst8e&dl=0)
