How sad I was to learn this news today. My heartfelt condolences go out to the entire family on the loss of your beloved mother and grandmother. Gloria was a fine, bright, talented and stylish woman whom I befriended (or vice versa) back at Beth Jacob while in my teens, and I had the pleasure of knowing her all these years. She took a real interest in me and my life, always asking, listening and advising -- whenever our paths crossed -- like a good friend and a mother does. Dear Glenda, Zack, Dana, Maya, Leah, Ariela, Uncle Arnold, Aunt Margo, Aunt Anna and family; Benjy and I are deeply saddened and sorry about the passing of your dear Mother, Sister, Sister-in-law, Bubbie and Aunt (of blessed memory). Please accept our sincere and deepest condolences. We can’t put into words how (empty) we feel. I was part of Gloria and Adam’s both of (blessed memories) lives for over 30 years. I celebrated so many family functions, holidays, parties and events and ALWAYS loved BOTH Gloria and Adam as if they were my REAL parents. Benjy was Gloria and Adam’s 1st grandchild. Benjy had a very SPECIAL BOND with Zaidy Adam and of course with Bubbie Gloria as well. Gloria and Adam were WONDERFUL grandparents to Benjy. I know how PROUD both Adam and Gloria were of Benjy, to see him stand in front of the Torah at his Bar Mitzvah. Glenda, Gloria and my Mother Mildred helped us plan, setup and give Benjy such a BEAUTIFUL Bar Mitzvah. BOTH our families were SO PROUD of dear Benjy. We are so LUCKY that BOTH Adam and Gloria could attend Benjy’s Bar Mitzvah - unfortunately my dear Father Harold of (blessed memory) could not be there. All of the Eulogies said were EXCELLENT. I just wanted to add to Glenda’s: that BOTH Glenda and I in addition to Gloria, Adam, Ariela and my parents, helped in raising Benjy for the 1st 6 years of his life - due to family health issues. Glenda and I are so GRATEFUL to EVERYONES help. Benjy and I were not able to attend Gloria’s funeral - as we are in Calgary, Alberta and have run into health issues sadly not enabling us to return to Toronto at this time. We viewed the funeral on the livestream. May dear Gloria (of blessed memory) be reunited with dear Adam (of blessed memory) and her dear parents Bubbie Fanny, Zaidy Nat and ALL in the (Garden of Eden). Although we knew Gloria for many years through our mutual association with B'nai Torah, we got to know her better after our moving into the Conservatory. She was a special woman who projected an air of dignity through her demeanour, her dress and her ready smile and friendliness. Above all, one sensed that her outer bearing was truly a sincere reflection of her inner self. She was a cultured and refined person of great grace. She was very inspiring and encouraging as an artist and friend as well, and we enjoyed each other’s company on many occasions- painting, attending concerts or just chatting over a cup of tea.
