Goldie Collins

With great sadness we announce the passing of Goldie Collins, age 95, who passed away peacefully on October 2,2020. Loving and devoted wife of 71 years to Bernard. Mother and mother-in-law of Allen and Evie, Rachelle, Randy and Wendy. Beloved grandmother of Jonathan and Lindsay, Aaron and Gillian, Jamie and Nadine, Jennifer and Yuka, Jesse. Great grandmother of Bobby and Stone, Ethan and Sunny, baby Kori and Aidan. She will be missed and fondly remembered by all. Private graveside service.

Memorial donations may be made to the Baycrest Foundation 416-785-2875.

Date of Funeral: Monday, October 5, 2020

It is rare to have a partner or mother for as long as you got to enjoy Goldie, but nevertheless, usually more upsetting than when the inevitable passing occurs at a younger age. Dear Bernie, Allen, Randy , Rachelle and Families: Goldy has been in my family as long as I have been alive. I spent my childhood in your home and enjoyed her belicious baking. She was always happy to see me and we created a bond betwen us that lasted 68 years. When I turned thirty , I married her cousins son , keeping our relationship in the family even then. Bernie has movies of Ron and me at Rachelle's birthday party when I was 5 years old. Her cousin Edith and Ron as well as myself are so very sorry for your loss, and will remember Goldie with fond memories as a loving wife, devoted mother, cousin and close friend ..

Having grown up living on Armour Blvd and being a close friend of Allen's since we were kids going to Summit Heights public school, I have wonderful memories of the family. Goldie was an amazing woman back then and always. Marlene grew up across the street from the Collins family too. Goldie's warmth and determination must have been inspirational to many. In Bernie, she had the best partner and caregiver possible. We attended all the family simchas and we especially and fondly remember her walking down the aisle with her proud Bernie by her side at Jamie and Nadine's wedding. I grew up on Armour Blvd. I went to all of Allen's birthday parties and played all the games. When I was a teenager, I babysat all three of Goldie's children and remember looking lovingly at the hi-fi, an anomaly for me.
