Harold (Hal) Risman
May 12, 1937- July 29, 2022
On Wednesday, July 20, 2022 Hal Risman passed away peacefully at Sunnybrook Hospital after a courageous battle of health issues.
Harold is the son of the late George and Pauline Risman.
Hal was the beloved husband of the late Sharron Risman. Loving father to Mark, Jay and Mitch, father-in-law to Claire Calloway. Proud Zaidy to Finn and Cole.
He leaves behind his brothers Frank and Stan and his loving sister Phyllis Wasserman.
Hal freely gave his time and spent years alongside his wife Sharron doing charity work through B’nai Brith. He served as President of the Leonard Mazel Lodge and actively participated in the Bowling League.
He will be missed by his caring sister-in-law Adele Wall and Victor and brother-in-law Martin Zaretsky and Rachael. He will be forever missed by his nephews, nieces, great nephews and nieces who shared so many memories with their”uncle  tickle” as was affectionately called. Hal loved children and always asked how every family member was doing as he took pride in each one as if they were his own.
He loved talking to people and they loved him. For the past twenty plus years he made endless connections with people of all walks of life. He became known as “the stickerman” because he was the Walmart greeter and gave out those yellow Walmart happy face stickers to kids as they entered the store. This gave Hal immense pleasure to see kids smile.
Hal was also a big sports fan and as he spent many months in the hospital in the last few years, he often only had his sports teams to keep him company on his tablet set up by his son Mark. Covid restrictions limited visitors and Hal missed interacting with people.
