With heavy hearts, we say goodbye to our beloved father, Harvey. Son to William and Celia (nee Weinstein). Brother to Myra. Brother-in-law to Ted, Murray, (the late) Arlene, (the late) Barry and Bonnie. Father-in-law to Karen. Uncle to Debbie, Steven, Marcy, Jeff, and Adam. Devoted husband and father to wife, Marlyn and sons, Jacob and David, who he loved more than anything in this life. Loving Zaidy to William and Jordana, who he adored far beyond words.

In his rambunctious youth, he mastered many talents. Camp horseback riding instructor, water skier, sports car aficionado, and of course, boater; a love he instilled in his two sons. Our dad loved being on the water.

Forty years in the flooring business as a salesman and buyer.

Intensely proud of his family which owned and operated Mandel’s Creamery for 50 years on Baldwin Street in Kensington Market, Toronto. Especially proud of his father, William, who held onto the business longer than any of his brothers. The last namesake holder of the family business before it was sold.

A heartfelt thank you to the staff and nurses at Southlake Hospital in cardiac and palliative, who so tenderly cared for him in his final days. Thank G-d he was not in pain.

A tremendous thank you to Dr. Nick Voudourous, family doctor and friend. Thank you for all of your efforts and everything you did for him over the years.

Lastly, an enormous thank you to all the doctors and nurses who tried to help him over the last three years, even if it was only in an effort to make him more comfortable.

If you would like to make a donation, please take this opportunity to make one in his name to any charity you feel is deserved.

We love you forever Dad.
