On 4 December 2021, with profound sadness, we announce the passing of our dear mother, Helen Kwart at home with her family by her side. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Sam. Loving mother and mother-in-law of Elaine, Shael and Cindy. Devoted Bubby to Jared and Amy, Dylan and Jerry. Loving Great Grandbubby to Riley and Penelope.

Dear Shael, Elaine and family. So sorry to read this news. Your mom was a very special 'neighbourhood mom'. Well into my adulthood she would remember me (from my childhood in Shael's classes at Cedar Grove P.S.) and say hello when I saw her at the plaza. Elaine, It has been decades since we had been in touch. My beloved mother of Blessed Memory (Thelma Markowitz Garshowitz and your mother, Helen Z"L had been girlfriends and she married and moved to Hamilton. When we would visit my Buby and Zaidy in the summer, we often would get together with her old girlfriends and we became friends with some of the children, right up into our mid-teenaged years. I think at that time you lived on Barksdale if memory serves. You and I became friends and kept in touch for a while but by the time I moved to Toronto, we had no longer been in touch. I was saddened to hear of your mother's passing and glad for you that you had her for as long as you did. How fortunate you all were. Shael and Elaine so sorry to hear about your mothers passing. She phoned me about ten years ago looking for my moms phone number, and we had a lovely talk. She had a amazing memory. I was glad that both our mons reconnected after so many years. My mom was always glad to hear from her. I promised Helen that I would bring Sadie over to visit, unfortunately the few times I tried there was some appointment or something that got in the way.
