We are sorry to announce the passing of Helen Simon on Tuesday, October 18, 2016. Beloved wife of the late Harvey Simon. Dear mother of the late Carole Mernick, Brenda Fuchs and Ilaine Evans. Loving grandmother of Adam, Aaron, Evan, Joelle and greatgrandmother of Mick, Lucy, Naomi, Sarah, and Moshe. Survived by her sister Shirley Katz. Memorial donations may be made to the Association for Soldiers of Israel 416-783-3053.

From the first time I met your mother, and family member, I was so inspired and moved by the conviction and strength and "tell it like it is" attitude that Helen had . We met at meetings for anyone looking for support no matter where they came from, they stopped and listened with such eagerness. Helen was a fine lady, a true woman of valor. We have lost another soldier but we will not forget - she left but not without being recognized . My condolences to the daughters and the family that were so fortunate to have her in their lives and the friends she must have made in the past few years in her new residence. Sandy
