Hilda Samuel, born June 20, 1926 in Ostroviecz, Poland, passed away after a short illness on Friday August 25 2023. Beloved wife of Melvyn Samuel, Z”L, cherished mother of Marianne, Bill, and Paul (Annie). Treasured grandmother of James, Leah (Jay), Miriam (Rotem), Yoni (Shoshanna), Naomi (David). Great-grandmother of Chaya Sarah, Fayge, Yaakov, Bracha, Chananya, Yosef, Yitzchak, Atara, Talia, Orly and Charlie.Her generosity, kindness, strength, patience and commitment to family will be greatly missed.

Shiva Details: Shiva visits Sunday to Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Shacharit will be held on Sunday at 8:30 a.m. and Monday to Thursday at 7:30 a.m., and Mincha/Maariv will be held Sunday to Wednesday at 6:25 p.m.

Hilda was my go-to travel agent for many years. It was a lucky day when I wandered into her place of business on Yonge Street. I boasted to everyone about how much experience my travel agent had - she was doing so many complicated things into her nineties that it was astounding. She was always a pleasure to deal with and wanted to know about each of my adventures once I returned home. They don’t make ‘em like that anymore. She was such a nice lady - may she rest peace. My condolences to her family.

So sorry to hear of your mother's passing. She was a warm, caring person and wonderful wife to Melvyn and devoted mother to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. I remember how much she enjoyed those family reunions up at the farm, and when we were members of Temple Sinai, it was good to have relatives belong as well.

We spoke every few months and she always reminded me that my dad (Marvin Singer) was her first cousin and that made us family. She was a wealth of information on many subjects. We spoke only twice since Mel passed away, but she was always in my heart. I'll miss those calls. May she rest in peace.
