Howard Kerbel

Howard Elliott Kerbel, died peacefully on April 16, 2022 at Mt. Sinai Hospital. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Martin Kerbel and Doreen Kerbel. Loving father and father-in-law of Joshua Kerbel, Zachary Kerbel and Rebecca Herman, Rebecca Kerbel and Patrick Grimminck. Much loved Zadie to Azriel, Lili, Eli, Abigail and Eden. Will be missed by his devoted partner Linda Childs.

Memorial donations may be made to Mount Sinai Hospital 416-586-8203.

The family has requested that masks be worn by anyone attending the funeral service or the Shiva.

The Kerbel Family.... I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Howard. As a teenager from Hamilton and being on the board of USY when Howard was President, I had many dealings with him. He was always so friendly, helpful and made me feel so welcome. He was a real mensch to this kid. I have always remembered that. I hope that your good memories that you have of him will help you at this time.

Sending condolences to Howard's children; Josh, Zack & Rebecca, Rebecca & Patrick, as well as Howard's much-loved grandchildren, and Linda his supportive partner. Both Paul and I were deeply saddened to hear of Howard's passing. I had the good fortune to stay in contact with Howard and always considered him a part of our family. Whenever we spoke, he told me how much he loved his children and the joy his grandchildren brought to his life. Sadly, he was not blessed with good health and his physical limitations did not enable his time with his family to be as he would have wanted. He was always very generous of spirit and will be greatly missed. If it was not that I live at such a geographic distance in Hawaii, I would be at the shiva. met howard in grade 7 basketball. he was the tallest on north prep's team.we went thru high school and law school together. his family had a cottage across the bay from my family cottage so we spent lots of time together. we became law partners and seemed to stay in touch for years. he did tell me of his numerous illnesses so I knew his ill health may eventually catch up to him. shall miss seeing and speaking to him. may his memory be as a blessing. alby garbe
