Ian Hurwitz

It is with deep sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Ian Hurwitz, Wednesday December 19, 2018, surrounded by his family. Cherished father and father-in-law of Howard and Sharyn Hurwitz, Morris and Ellen Hurwitz, Karen and Howard Feldman. Adored Papa of Josh and Jessica, Jeremy Hurwitz, Kaylee, Rebecca, and Alanna Feldman. Devoted and loving partner of Shirley Stants. Loving brother of Harry Hurwitz of Montreal. Fondly remembered by Anne Hurwitz. He will be greatly missed and will live in our hearts forever! Many thanks to the staff at Northfinch/Sienna Long Term Care Facility for their excellent care of our father! Shiva Details: Family and friends will be received at 210 Roseborough Crescent, Thornhill (Centre and Atkinson) immediately following the interment service until 3 p.m., Saturday 7-9 p.m., Sunday to Tuesday 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.

Ian, you took a chance and gave me a job at Sanderson's as the first female sales rep for various towns in southern Ontario. I loved every minute of my job and worked hard to make you proud. Ian, we're going to miss you. There will always be a ship a sailing in the harbour but it will never be the same without you. Congratulations sir, you left this world a better place. Never one to judge, always the first to forgive. You will be truly missed. One my funniest memories (and there were many), driving back from an event with a carload of HAPPY salesman, someone released a little hot air in the car. Ian who was driving lowered the power window on Hgwy 401 and his flop over , flew out! He raised the window and began screaming "This is not funny you guys let go of my hair"! Heartfelt condolences from Nate and Noreen Horowitz. Marion Kaye, was a neighbour to Ian, during her years at Norfinch/Sienna Long Term Care Living Facility. Memories of his enjoyment of music displayed during our singing sessions in the diningroom. He was a fine man and he had an amazing sense of humour. I remember his enjoyment of reading the newspaper daily and watching sports on the television. He loved his family very much. He will be missed, his light will always shine in your hearts
