WYNBERG, IDA On Thursday November 25, 2021. It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Ida Wynberg. She was an inspiring and beloved mother and mother-in-law to Hartley Wynberg and Sarah Margles. Former wife and lifelong friend of Jack Wynberg. Adored grandmother of Ohaliav and Zusha.

Ida was born in a DP camp in Uzbekistan, the child of Holocaust survivors. She traveled though many countries before landing in Canada. She trained in architectural design and loved spending her time translating Yiddish stories, playing accordion and piano, painting and drawing, and doing Lego sets with her grandchildren. She had a full-hearted laugh, a sharp mind, a brave will, and so much love.

It was a pleasure getting to know Ida at the meetings of our Yiddish Book Group. She often hosted many of the sessions and coming to her house was a warm and enjoyable experience. She was a lovely person,taken from us far too soon. My condolences to her son, Hartley, of whom she spoke often, and the rest of her family.

I am filled with sadness to learn that Ida has died.IT has been just days since we chatted about so many things But mostly it was about her thankfulness to Hartley and Sara for their endless loving care, and her appreciation of her two grandsons who brought such joy into her life. I shall miss her joy in living, her vibrant laugh, her generosity and helpfulness.

I am so terribly saddened to know that my dear friend Ida has passed away. We met on the first day of university and forged such a wonderful bond immediately. She was a caring, intelligent, creative, patient, and most compassionate friend. She adored her dear son Hartley and was a wonderful mother.
