Debbie and Claudia and family: My heart is broken for your loss and yet so inspired by the relationship that you had with your dear mother of blessed memory. She was a very lovely woman and I always enjoyed my chats with her. Debbie when you told me of her last days and the Havdallah family gathering by her hospital bed, I was so in awe. But then the awe turned to such huge admiration for all of you when at the funeral today. you and Claudia so eloquently shared your innermost love and thanks to an inspirational and loving and bright mother and grandmother who has taken an incredible hold on your hearts that will last forever. When Claudia's son Aaron spoke, I was blown away by the love and respect that a grandson had for his grandmother. His eloquent Chesped on the effect that his grandmother had on his life and how you all, both generations, daughters and grandsons bring to the fore , your own successes and how they were in every way credited to your mother and late father's influence and concrete help just made me feel honoured to be there and to know you all. I'm especially grateful to have known your dear late mother and to have been in the company of such prime examples of Kibbot Eim. v Av...respect for parents with such honour. I am so proud to call you my friend Debbie, for so many reasons and the level of my respect for you and your family has raised the bar for what a beautiful loving decent Jewish family should strive for. May you be comforted with all the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem and know no more sorrow. You were exceptional loving daughters and your mom was so proud of you and will continue to be for all eternity...of that I have no doubt! She will make many loving fans in Gan Eden and she will most assuredly be there always with you just in another form. All my love, Janice

Dear Claudia and Debbie and family...We want to extend our condolences and tell you how very sorry we are to hear of your mother's passing. She was indeed a very special lady and I have fond memories from the many many years of knowing her. In addition to her smile and friendliness, the strongest memory I have is from when you lived on Prince Charles Drive throughout elementary and high school. I'd often come into your house and see your mother sitting on the couch in the living room reading a book. Our thoughts are with you and we want to wish you good health and long life,.

Dear Debbie,Claudia and family, My family and I send our deepest condolences and wish you all a long life. I am deeply saddened by the loss of my Auntie Illie. My mum Hilda and her sister Illie had a deep love for eachother.They both managed to escape the Nazis and arrive in London but sadly their parents perished. They both found happiness and were cared for in their later years by their devoted families. Illie had an amazing memory and mind. I loved talking to her in our telephone conversations. I will especially cherish visiting her a few years ago. She is now reunited with her sister, parents and husband.

I am sorry to hear about the recent loss of your beloved mother. She lived a long life and was able to see her grandchildren - both professionals-marry and have children. I was stunned, but realized she was almost as old as my mom when she passed. Thus I sympathize with you .My sympathies are with you at the loss of this beloved , sweet and kind lady. May Ilse rest in peace and you be comforted by the friends and family that surround you. Her legacy will be the wonderful family that she raised. Debbie: I was very sorry to read about your mother's passing. I have very fond memories of your mother when I visited you, and your dad and Mom in London, while I was studying at the University of Windsor 1979-1981. She was a woman of immense knowledge, strength, courage and wisdom. May you and your family be comforted by all your wonderful memories.
