Irine Kishinevsky

June 16th, 1971 to February 15th, 2022

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Irine, who died much too soon on Tuesday, February 15th at the age of 50.  Born in the former Soviet republic of Moldova, she was the only daughter and second child of Samual Kishinevsky and Zina Kishinevsky (née Trakchtenberg).

Irine will be remembered as a very loving mother, wife, daughter, and sister by her family.  Friends and family will also remember her as a fun-loving person who lived life with passion and cared deeply about family and friends.  Irine was a passionate traveller, and was fluent or proficient in multiple languages.  She found great joy in exploring many different activities, from participating in various fitness and outdoor pursuits, to exploring food, music and games.  Irine also had a tremendous love of all animals, especially her family cat – Skittles.

After Irine’s family moved to Canada when she was 5 years old, Irine grew up in Calgary, Alberta before moving to Ontario to attend the University of Western Ontario for her degree in psychology. She went on to become a Registered Dental Hygienist after attending George Brown College in Toronto.  Irine also became a certified fitness trainer and worked part-time in this field for a while.

In 2003, Irine married Ian Michael Stoppard in Toronto.  Their son, Daniel was born in 2008, where he has picked up his mother’s passion for exploring various interests including music, science and adventure.

Irine is survived by her loving husband, Ian, her adoring 13 year old son, Daniel, her mother, Zina, and her brother, Michael.

There will be a funeral on the Sunday, February 20th, 2022 at the Pardes Shalom cemetery, to be attended in person by family only, but a live stream will be available to all mourners. In lieu of flowers, the family would be grateful if friends make a donation in Irine’s name to the Canadian Cancer Society (1-888-939-3333), the Sunnybrook Odette Cancer Centre (416-480-4483), or other charity of their choosing.
