Lapidus, Ike (Irving), It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Irving Lapidus on Thursday, March 3rd, 2016. Beloved husband of the late Bertha Lapidus.Loving father and father-in-law of Arlen and Diane Lapidus, Philip Lapidus and Janet Nish-Lapidus, and Suzan and Barry Carr. Cherished grandfather of Matthew and Camille, Julia and James, Leah, and Devon and Stephanie. Funeral services will be at Steeles Memorial Chapel, 350 Steeles Ave West on Sunday, March 6, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. Interment: Temple Sinai Section of Pardes Shalom Cemetery. Shiva: 74 Summerdale Dr. Thornhill. Shiva visits following the interment and Monday through Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., evening services Sunday through Tuesday at 8:00 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Temple Sinai Foundation 416-487-4161 or to the Reena Foundation 905-764-1081 ext 30.

I fondly remember Ike. He was a great friend of my late father. My father would take me, as a young boy to Ike's store on Queen St. East. It was a second hand store and tattoo parlour. It was the first and only time that I saw Ike apply a tattoo. Ike and Bertha were always a part of my family's life. Ike was a strong supporter of Temple Sinai. His presence will be missed. I have very fond memories of Ike. Two that come to mind are passover at Bertha and Ike's home and talks with Ike when I was deciding what line of work to go into. He tried hard to get me into pharmaceutical sales. My sincerel condolences to all of Ike's family and friends

Ike and Bertha were two of the first people to welcome us back to Toronto and Temple Sinai.We have many warm memories of times spent with them enjoying their hospitality .They both contributed much of their time and talent to Temple Sinai and Ike like Bertha will be sorely missed.

Dear Lapidus Family: Your mom and dad were our very dear neighbours on Fairholme Ave for many years. My mother Anne and my late father Harold, became good friends with your parents and joined Temple Sinai along with them way back in the early 1950's. I have wonderful memories of our street parties in the summer, babysitting at your house (mom always left me a huge bowl of fruit and cookies), and having fun sitting on your porch just chatting and spending hot summer evenings with all the Lapidus kids. Please accept my sincere condolences on the passing of your dear father. Your mom is also very missed, and just to let you know, your parents made a very handsome couple that we were all proud to know. Love to all.....Heather (Goldman) Kaplan.
