Dear Ralph, Louise & Sophie, It is so sad and tragic that we lost a beautiful, kind, sweet soul in Issy. Issy was such an easy person to be friends with, he never wanted for anything, he always filled a room with his contagious laugh and would never say no to any home baked desserts! I will miss him terribly but I’m so grateful to know that I have a lifetime of wonderful memories to keep him current in my mind. We are so sorry for your loss.

I’m saddened to hear of the passing of Issy Barcan. We worked together briefly about 10 years ago. Issy was a kind hearted and fun loving guy. Most memorable for me was his amazing laugh. My condolences to Issy’s family.

I worked with Issy since the late 1990's and we have been good friends ever since. Upon hearing this news, I couldn't believe it. Super guy with a great sense of humour, and many other great qualities. I'll always think of you buddy anytime I get into a taxi / uber ... we appeared together on the show Cash Cab. May you rest in peace.

Dear Ralph, Louise and Sophie It is easy to see , reading through the comments that Issy was a well loved man. With his sense of humor and kindhearted manner he made friends with an enviable ease. To some, he redefined the very concept of what it means to be a friend. Peter and Issy spoke daily, and in fact, several times a day, over the last few decades. To an onlooker, their conversations may have sounded like two children talking in their own language about absolutely nothing. To those who really saw them, it was not just about the trips they took together or to see each other, it was about a deeply supportive decades long camaraderie that saw them both through celebrations and difficult obstacles with laughter and an understanding that buoyed them both in quite a profound way. We have been honored to have known Issy and grateful to have shared time, laughter and love with such a wonderful spirited soul.

Ralph, Louise, Sophie, I offer you my condolences. Words cannot express how empty my heart and my life will be without Issy. Each day involved talking on the phone, leaving each other voicemails, texting, sending emails and doing Whatsapps. He was the most creative person I knew and we had our own language. He had a great sense of humor and the ability to talk to anyone. His laugh was loud and infectious. Every conversation would result in us adding something to our bucket list to fulfill together. Sadly our bright light was put out too soon.
