I probably only saw Izzy 2 or 3 times in my life when my son was visiting Elliot at their home. What struck me about him was his openness and having no affect. My son was in his home and I went to pick him up. I told him I rarely see my son owing to family law. He opens the door,tells me to come in anytime, and I'm always welcomed. It warmed my heart, a very self effacing man. I would say six or seven years ago my son tells me Izzy was driving at Ranee and Bathurst and he witnesses six thugs pounding the stuffings out of one fella. He stops his car, fights them off, and rescues the victim at great danger to himself. He was a man with fortitude and a conscience. Not many men like him with such cohones. A very gentle and caring soul. Elliot your dad is something to be very proud of.

Dear Mary and family- I am so very, very sorry to hear that Izzy passed away. My father (and everyone in my family) thought the world of Izzy. My father loved to hear his stories. When I went to Israel to work on a kibbutz he secretly had some friends check up on me to make sure I was ok. I found this out many years later; it was very sweet and I will never forget that. To the Fraizinger family. What can be said here that will really make a difference. It's been years since I've seen you. How do I, virtually a stranger, tell you how sorry I was to hear the news. I don't have the words. I will trust that you hear the sincerity when I simply write... I am sorry. I remember Izzy from when I was a teenager. I only met him a few times, but he filled the room. He was larger than life, he made all of us laugh and it was obvious to me that he loved you and that you loved him. You are surrounded by family and friends that love you and I hope that you are comforted by their support. I hope that there will come a time when you can tell Izzy's stories again, not with a tear but in remembrance and with a smile. I hope on one far away day that Izzy makes you smile and laugh again. I've known you both since you were teenagers and at get togethers. He will be sorely missed by everyone and anyone who knew him. He was everyones favorite. He would go out of his way for everyone and anyone who needed help in anyway. I know he was at my beck and call when my brother Allan, Izzy's best friend,( they were like brothers) was in the hospital he would pick me up and bring me home from visiting my brother Allan until he passed away. Now Izzy and Allan are in Gan Eden joking around as they did on earth. He was so good to me, 20 years ago, when my family and I came to Toronto in search of information and a connection to my family from Stepan.
