Loving father and father-in-law of Eli and Yaffa, Joseph (Yossi) Adler and Miriam Weinstein, and the late Shlomo. Cherished Saba of Ayala and Avi, Yona and Chaya Leah, Avi and Rochel, Akiva and Racheli, Moishe and Chaya, Daliah, and Hilly, and Great Saba of fourteen. Memorial donations may be made to the Association for Soldiers of Israel-416-783-3053.

Memorial Service Location: Steeles Memorial Chapel, 350 Steeles Ave., W., Chapel service.

Burial Service Location: Lambton Cemetery, Beth Jacob Synagogue section.

Shiva Details: 2 Neptune Drive #312., Toronto. Daily from 7-10 am, 1-5 pm, and 7-10 pm. (FRIDAY 7 A.M. TO 12 P.M. AND 1-4 P.M. ONLY) Concludes Monday morning June 17th.

To Eli, Joseph, and the rest of the Adler family: Please accept my deepest condolences on the passing of Isser Adler. To me, he was an absolute Gem of a man, strong yet compassionate in every sense. A role model for his generation, a true survivor who managed to live his life to the fullest, with conviction and purpose. I am honoured to have known him for all these years.

Mr. Adler will be sorely missed by all who knew him. He was a learned man and hugely talented. He was an excellent ba'al koreh, and a fine ba'al tefilla. Who can forget his beautiful rendition of megillat Esther! Mr. Adler was also a gabai for many years and he carried out all of his shul duties with great humility. What a great loss! May his memory be of a blessing.

I was heartbroken to hear of the passing of your beloved husband, father, and grandfather and I am so sorry for your loss. Mr. Adler was such a special man, one of the most deeply cherished leaders of our Beth Jacob community. He played so many key roles in our shul: he was our gabai, ba'al koreh and ba'al tefilah and he fulfilled each of these holy tasks with great care and devotion. He was enormously talented and had such a gorgeous nusach for davening! I can still hear his sweet voice calling men up to the Torah and announcing the "molad" for the new month in his beautiful Yiddish. His unforgettable leining of Megillas Esther was legendary and we were privileged to hear it year after year. Mr. Adler was a strong and determined person, yet he had a gentle and humble spirit that touched all who knew him. He left a deep and lasting impression on our community and will be greatly missed. How beloved he was to all of us! May he rest in peace among all the precious and righteous souls in Gan Eden.

Whenever I'd mention to someone that our family davened at Beth Jacob Synagogue, I was asked, "Oh, you're related to Isser Adler...?" and I always answered, "No, we're the *other* Adlers!" But my late father, Jacob, and Mr. Isser Adler shared similar traits -- they were both soft-spoken, gentle men...but more importantly "gentlemen", showing true menschlichkeit. I know that my mother, Lilli, joins me in offering our heartfelt sympathy on the loss of your beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. May your family be comforted among the many mourners of Zion and Yerushalayim.
