On Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at Mackenzie Health Hospital. Itzhak Finkelstein, beloved husband of the late Tova. Loving father and father-in-law of Rivka and Brian Neal, Jack Finkelstein and Rhonda Daiter-Finkelstein, and Mark and Rhonda Finkelstein. Cherished Saba of Kate, Sarah, Brooke (Jamie), Samantha (Daniel), Jordan, and Zachary. Proud Saba Raba of Sophie. He will be sadly missed and remembered by all his family and friends. Memorial donations may be made to Canadian Diabetes Association 416-363-3373.

Memorial Service Location: Graveside service at Pardes Chaim Cemetery

Burial Service Location: Pardes Chaim Cemetery, 11818 Bathurst St., Vaughan, Community section

Shiva Details: 120 Promenade Cir., Apt.310, Thornhill, L4J 7W9. Friends and family are invited immediately after the service to the address above. Shiva visits staring Sunday 2 to 4 p.m., and 7 to 9 p.m. Minha at 7:30 p.m. Shiva ends Thursday morning.

To the Extended Finklestein Famly: We are all so very deeply sadenned by the loss of your dear IZZY as he was known to the 120 Promenade family. Izzy dedicated himself to our Building as a respected Board member for many years with an uncomprimising attitude to do and get the best for everyone. Izu was a great guy. Our family grew up with his humor and jokes. He was a guy that can live for ever because you wanted him there. Our condolences to everyone that loved him, I will surely miss him in our lives. What will we do with the billion pokerpoints he leave behind?

Izu was like the grandfather I never had. I still can't forget how much my cheeks hurt after he gave them a strong pinch. Tova can finally set him straight for everything he's done since she passed. Sadly I did not have the privilege of meeting Katie’s Saba but was always happy to see videos she would send me of him imparting his wisdom and stories at his kitchen table. To everyone in the family, I am sad that I won't be able to be there with you but will be in spirit for sure. Izu was a great guy with so many memorable traits. He always had an opinion on just about everything, knew just about everyone, had a joke for every occasion, as well as a smile and cheek pinch. He was a big guy with a bigger heart. He filled in as a sort of father, father-in law, and grandfather for us and we loved him. Tova had a few years break from him but I am sure he's back on her case again already. You will be missed.

Dear Mark and Rhonda, Jack and Rhonda, Rivka and Brian and grandkids, We're are all so sorry to hear of your dad's passing. Izzie/Saba was truly a sweet, warm and kind man. Tough too! He loved, hugged, and squeezed harder than most. We loved being with "saba" at simchas and family functions, where he held us all so tight and told stories from back in his day. He always took a genuine interest in what we, and the kids were doing and always made us feel welcomed. We'll all miss him.
