With great sadness, the family announces the passing of Ivan Hanley Silber. Eldest son of the late Jennie and Leo Silber (ז״ל). Born on January 31, 1946 in Montreal, Canada, Ivan passed away suddenly on Monday, December 29, 2025, at the age of 79, in sunny California.

Beloved husband of Kim Marie. Devoted stepfather to Kristen and Marina. Cherished grandfather of Aurora, Piper, and Quinn. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Arthur and Rilla, and Cary and Ruthi. He will be deeply missed by his Nieces and Nephews; David and Alana, Eric and Leah, Justin and Bev, Ryan and Kaylie, Brittany and Derek as well as all of his great nieces and nephews.

Ivan’s greatest passion was men’s clothing, and he built a remarkable career around his exceptional eye for style. For over 50 years, he dressed America’s elite, including many notable athletes and business icons, earning a reputation for his ability to put together the perfect outfit and for the relationships he built with those he dressed. He enjoyed fishing, playing hockey, and loved cooking, often sharing photos of his latest culinary creations with family and friends. An avid football fan, he proudly cheered for the Kansas City Chiefs since the 1970s. He will be remembered for his sharp sense of humour, his love of equine species, and his unmistakable “ALL CAPS” communication style. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 1, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at Chabad Mount Olive Cemetery, Los Angeles, California. This will be a graveside service. Shiva will be observed privately.
