TANNY, Jean (née Levine) 

On Thursday, February 17, 2022. Beloved wife of the late Morris Tanny. Devoted mother and mother-in-law of Gerald and Linda of Israel, Stephen and Sharon Weinstein and David and Linda of Toronto, Ontario. Cherished Bubby of Micha and Sophie, Shimon and Maya, Eitan and Ahuva, Jason and Elise and Jeremy and Kira Simon and the late Aron z”l and Erica Tanny and Michael and Melissa Mok and Joe and Amy Mok.  And loving great grandmother of Gil Mor and Nilli Maya, Yonatan Avraham and Ella, Ze’ev, Avraham Mordechai, Batya, Noa and Yehuda, Abby and Leora, and Mia and Joanna Mok. Bubby Jean is lovingly remembered by Sharon’s children, Miriam and Josh, Peter and Karen, Zak and his fiancé Sarah, and Sharon’s grandchildren, Nina, Gil, Micah and Jackie. 

Jean is survived by her brother-in-law Phil Tanny. She was the loving sister and sister-in-law of late Sam and Tillie Levine, Eddy and Rose Levine, Ben and Tess Levine, Ella and Danny Gilbert, Fran and Jack Beinstein and Fred and sister-in-law Sarah Ben Goldberg, Harry and Celia Tanny, Charles and May Tanny, Lilly and Albert Plant, Phyllis Tanny, and Sophie and Blackie Herman. She will be dearly missed by her many nieces, nephews, family, and friends.  

The family thanks the exceptional care team at The Terraces of Baycrest where Jean had very recently moved. They cared for her with unfailing kindness and respect during her short time there. Thanks also to her wonderful caregivers in Montreal who helped Jean get the most out of life during the last 6 months.
